What's fun to know
The legend says that Genta actually came up with the Royal Oak design whilst working at Bulova in the 60s. It was shown to Bulova executives and they hastily turned it down and scrapped the designs. If this were true then all designs after this would be a copy of the Bulova.
It’s not true and never has been.
However – this does not mean you can’t enjoy some Genta design at a fraction of the cost of an AP Royal Oak. The designs are essentially the same – if the Bulova actually a little smaller and refined making wearing more accessible. They both have quartz and automatic variants. They both basically look the same from 6 feet away.
The biggest difference is the dial – the Bulova has a fabric style finish where the AP has Grande Tapisserie.

Movement: ETA 7 jewel movement that is working perfectly, and a new battery will be fitted before this watch is delivered.
Material: Stainless steel case, 35 mm excl crown.

What we want you to know
Dial: The dial is great, and the larger diver style lume plots still have a healthy glow. The Mercedes style hands have lost most of their glow though.
The dial itself shows gentle and aesthetically attractive aeging that gives the dial an overall warm hue. The minute hand got some small damage at the lume as seen in the photos.
Case: There were three variations of case/bracelet for this model – PVD, stainless steel and the rare bi-metal we have here. The mineral glass has a date magnifier bubble and some signs from use with small scratches that is more or less seen depending on light.
The unidirectional bezel is unusual, as it has angle and compass points rather than number to show the time left like most divers watches. This was rated to 10 ATM / 100M, helped by the signed screw down crown, so to not have a divers bezel is odd.
The 34mm case size would have been marketed as a men’s watch back in the 1980’s, but the size now suits both men and women.
Bracelet/Strap: The integrated bracelet is similar to the one that is seen on the "Royal Oak", fits 16-16.5 cm wrists. The clasp is signed Bulova!
